It's hard to think 5 questions in Chapter 10 Type of Sentence.

Professor Hadges is very very nice, but he is not easy too.
Compound sentence, chapter 10.

David Hodges said

at 8:56 pm on May 21, 2010

Why so, WeiWei? Is it difficult because everything is clear and you have no questions? Or is it difficult because everything is confusing and you don't know how to phrase the questions?

WeiWeiZheng said

at 9:37 pm on May 21, 2010

I think everything is clear in this chapter, types of sentence, simple sentence, compound sentence, complex sentence, independent clause, dependent clause, coordinators( coordinating conjunctions): for, so, yet, nor, but, and, or. These all are looked as same as Writing 3. I may find out some questions if I read it again, these sentences make me nerve. Take a break. huhu..

Dear Prof. Hodges! How can i put images to my page???

David Hodges said

at 4:25 pm on May 25, 2010

Dear Sevgi! Great question!

First you must upload the images to the wiki. Try to keep them under a megabyte if you can by reducing their resolution if they're really big. The images must be on your computer before you can use them.

1. Click the "Upload files" link in the upper right corner of any page.
2. The All Files page will open.
3. Click "Upload files" again.
4. A window will open that lets you navigate your own hard drive to find images.
5. Double-click the image you want to upload.

Once the image is uploaded to the wiki, you'll find it in the All Files list when you need it.

1. Open the page you want to put an image into.
2. Click the Edit tab.
3. Place the cursor on the page where you want the image.
4. Click the "Images and Files" tab in the right hand side of the wiki (below "Insert Links").
5. Double-click the name of the image you want to post.

Whew! Does that make sense? Good luck, Sevgi!

it is 11.13 pm now, and I just finished my essay. It is too late to review it. I am sleepy now. I think it is fine not to review it since we are still in first draft writing, and we will have a lot of time to correct it. See you tomorrow. Good night.

Joan Didion is a good writer but there were concerns about her method of presentation. In her writing she used series of repetitions which made the extracts monotonous ,making her work merely entertaining than convicing. Her essay was too detail that she almost drifted from the main idea to uniimportant issue. For example, her description of the hall "There were paper bags half filled with hard-boiled eggs and empty bottle."Joan Didion is a baias writier she pointed out more of Morrison than the other members of the band she talk about his private life to a point that one could suspect hatered for him.
